CAD Skills Assessment

Before we design your custom training, Computers and Design Inc. can conduct a CAD Skills Assessment of potential trainees.

The CAD Skills Assessment is helpful in building a matrix of the skill level of each individual, so that training can focus on skills improvement and time is not lost sending every CAD user through the same series of classes. Using a outside firm to evaluate CAD skills and experience can be a non-stressful way to uncover training needs.

Potential trainees are interviewed one on one at your office or at our facility. The interviews typically take about 15 to 30 minutes per person.

The interviewer will:

  • Discuss the individual's CAD background, employment experience and prior training experiences.
  • Show the individual a CAD drawing and ask them specific questions about how they would recreate the drawing and how long they estimate this would take them.
  • Choose specific key AutoCAD commands and discuss them to test the individual's understanding of the commands.
  • Give the individual a test drawing to complete, and observe their drawing set up, use of layers, symbols, speed of production or design, and plot set up.

We prepare a spreadsheet showing the comparative CAD skill levels of each person we have interviewed, and make recommendations on building training classes for individuals and groups.

CAD Skills Assessments are billed at the hourly rate of $100/hour.
